The Sealey TL95 Timing Light Diesel Converter Box is a diagnostic adapter designed to enable accurate timing checks on diesel engines using standard timing lights and engine analysers. This essential diesel diagnostic tool detects pressure pulses from fuel injector pipes, converting them into signals compatible with conventional petrol timing equipment. Engineered for direct injection diesel engines, the converter box accommodates fuel pipes ranging from 6mm (1/4") to 10mm (3/8") external diameter, covering most commercial diesel applications. The wide 6-30V DC input power range ensures compatibility with various vehicle electrical systems, from light commercial vehicles to agricultural and industrial diesel engines. The unit works by clamping onto the diesel injector fuel pipe and detecting pressure pulses at the trigger point of 15% of the highest pressure in the injector pipe. This signal is then converted for use with timing lights, engine analysers and multimeters fitted with an inductive pick-up, eliminating the need for dedicated diesel-specific diagnostic equipment.
