The Draper 1176-B Battery and Alternator Analyser is a diagnostic tool designed for testing 12V DC electrical systems in vehicles and other automotive applications. This straightforward analyser provides quick, accurate readings of both battery condition and alternator performance, making it an essential tool for automotive technicians, mobile mechanics and workshop professionals. The unit features an LED display that indicates battery condition when the engine is off, and clearly shows alternator output when the engine is running. A magnetic strip on the reverse of the tester allows hands-free operation by securing the unit to metal surfaces, freeing up both hands to work with test leads and access connection points. This practical design feature is particularly useful when working in confined engine bays or under vehicle bonnets. Supplied complete with 900mm insulated test leads – a red positive lead with test probe and a black negative lead with crocodile clip – the analyser is ready to use straight from the package. The lightweight construction (just 82g) makes it highly portable for mobile mechanics, whilst the robust design suits regular workshop use.
